At Staphyt, our Regulatory Affairs Division helps clients navigate complex regulatory environments and successfully bring their chemical or biological substances and products to market. We support projects across Plant Protection & Nutrition, Biocides and REACh sectors. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven Biocidal Team Leader – Regulatory Affairs, based in Europe, to join our dynamic and supportive teams.
Job role:
- To manage and optimise the human and technical resources of the team to deliver the best for the business and the client ensuring high standards of quality in the work delivered and adherence to agreed budgetary limits.
- To monitor workloads (capacity and capability), allocate resources for agreed work, and ensuring that deadlines are consistently met.
- To work closely with the Business Development Manager to achieve the optimum workload across the year, avoiding significant peaks and troughs.
- To lead, guide and motivate the team to work effectively, to be resilient in the face of procedural and system changes and to deliver a high quality of service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
1) Team management and development :
- Define team responsibilities, procedures, and workflows to ensure all members have the required technical skills and awareness of the projects and upcoming changes in guidance or legislation.
- Ensure smooth team operation and clear communication between team members and dedicated experts.
- Provision of senior level direction on challenging projects where needed.
Improving team skills through training and mentoring actions.
2) Resource planning and work allocation:
- Maintaining a complete view of the work of the team workloads and individual responsibilities.
- Allocate the work according to individuals’ skills and experience and identify training needs in each case.
- Monitoring quality of the work and compliance with agreed timetable and operating procedures.
3) Strategy and Communication:
- Assisting the Business Unit Director in communicating Company and Business Unit strategic objectives, aligning the team around the common business strategy.
- Participating in the Company’s marketing & communication actions to increase Staphyt’s visibility in events, social networks and discussion forums.
4) Performance management:
- Contribute to recruitment decisions including advertising posts and selection of candidates.
- Participate in discussions on annual salary revisions.
- Enhance team members motivation and facilitate the team to ensure good service and value for money.
- Being the interface between team members and scientific experts.

Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of EU biocides regulation (BPR 528/2012) and relevant national legislation.
- Experience with regulatory submissions, renewals, and dossier preparation, including relevant IT tools (R4BP3, IUCLID).
- Understanding of scientific data requirements, risk assessment, and compliance processes.
- Ability to interpret guidance documents and communicate regulatory changes to the team.
Management skills
- Experience leading and motivating a team of regulatory professionals.
- Ability to delegate effectively, develop team members, and manage performance.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Capability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
Communication skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional EU languages desirable.
- Ability to liaise with clients, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic awareness.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Strong team player, able to build close relationships across the business.
